52 Weeks of Happiness: Week One

52 Weeks of Happiness: Week One

My daughter, Amanda, got me the book ,  “52 Lists for Happiness Weekly Journaling Inspiration for Positivity, Balance and Joy” by Moorea Seal. Every week this year, I am sharing with you the lists for the week and my weekly answers. I  hope this encourages you to build your own happy list. If you’re inspired to start your own happiness list, feel free to use the hashtags  #52HappyList or #52Lists.

#52lists, 52 Weeks of Happiness

The  week one activity is to list what makes you happy right now

What Makes Me Happy Right Now Is:

My new computer.

My new car; Olivia.

Music. Because music is the universal language.

Essential Oils. I recently had a toothache and I used a combination of oils, and boom, five minutes, it was gone.

Candles.

Books.

My friends make me happy.

My new eye mask makes me happy.

Movies make me happy.

Hanging out with my family makes me the happiest. Seriously, I love my kids. I love my sister. I just love hanging with them. http://chasingsammiphotography.pixieset.com/tandyelisalasneakpeeks/p/OTE3NDExODc0-MjkwMjQyNDgzMg/

Peach tea.

Meditating.

Dancing. Lately I’ve taken up belly dancing.

Journaling.

Clean sheets make me happy.

Belly dancing.

Yoga.

My new headphones.

Sleep.

Walking.

Nature.

Learning.

My grand-phew, Jackson, makes me happy.

Bubble baths.

Incense.

Sending cards, making people’s day.

Speaking.  I just started a meetup group called Phoenix Womenpreneur Leadership Rockstar Group. If you’re in the Phoenix area, I invite you to check it out. Id’ love to have you.

Food makes me happy.

Games. Over the holidays, I bought the game Cards Against Humanity, and the kids and I loved it. It was great.

Hanging with my family, of course, is my favorite thing ever. I drink peach tea maybe once or twice a week. I meditate daily. Dancing is one thing I could do more of. I journal every day. I have clean sheets once a week. I do yoga every day. I eat food every day. I use my headphones daily. Of course, I sleep daily.  Walking in nature is probably more like three or four times a week. I learn every day. Jackson, my grand-phew, ah, love him. I don’t see him as often as I’d like, but usually once every two weeks.  I haven’t taken a bubble bath in a long while. I do light incense a couple times a week. I send cards every week and I’ve been doing speaking every week. What are your happy lists, and what makes you happy, and how often are you doing those things, and how can you incorporate that more into your daily life?

It’s Your Turn!

Your action to take for this week is to identify what makes you happy right now and identify  how often do you actually get to experience these things.  Take one item on your list and see how you can turn it into a daily practice of happiness.

This post reminds me of the concept of remembering each day what you’re grateful for. Even taking a few minutes to think of 5 things you are happy to have in your life before you fall asleep really puts things in perspective!

Love that your list includes not only things but also experiences. At the top of my list are: good health, warm sunny days in winter, time with my family, and checking off items from my to-do list. Such a terrific way to incorporate positivity into your life. Focusing on the things that produce happiness versus what’s making us unhappy will change our outlook and mindset.

What a wonderful list, Tandy. Family tops my list too and all those sweet little memory-making moments with my Goddesses. I also love walking in nature and time spent with friends and every extra moment I get with my adorable little dog. So many reasons to be happy. 🙂

This is a great idea for a practice, Tandy! I LOVE how many things you were able to list that make you happy too! This week, I was happy I stood up and marched in the Women’s March here in Toronto. It really made me happy to see how many people showed up to stand up for what they believe in! I was happy with the artwork I created in my art intensive and surprised myself that I finally was able to do some things that had eluded me. It’s been challenging to find things to be happy about with all the upset and turmoil in the U.S. and around the world. I am really working to focus on the positives and to find some happy moments, in all the sad ones we are experiencing collectively and individually.

This is a great idea… because we need to remind ourselves of what makes us happy. Margaritas make me happy, pizza, burgers and fries, good friends, shooting, my honey of course, us getting married and having an amazing honeymoon in August. Awesome, thanks for the reminder… to be thankful for the little things. 😉

I love the list of things that make you happy. Also, I may contact you to know more about your essential oil mix. I have been reading a little about them and wanting to use them on a daily basis.

As for what makes me happy now, It is the fat that I have finally settled down after moving to a new country ( 1 year now)
