Quote#1:

“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.”

                                                                                                                             ~ Confucius

There were days it took us 30 minutes to get up the stairs after treatment. The important thing was I kept going. The important thing is YOU keep going regardless of how small the steps seem, keep going.

Quote #2:

“It’s okay to be scared. Being scared means you’re about to do something really, really brave.” ~ Mandy Hale

I love this quote because it reminds us that when we are scared, that’s an invitation for us to step up and push through. Having the courage to ‘do it scared’ is a way to tell the Universe, “I’ve got this!”

Quote #3:

“Hope and Love are the only things stronger than fear.” ~ Tandy Elisala

We can only feel ONE thing at a time: Love or Fear. When you choose to love, you are choosing that which is for your highest good. Remember that LOVE helps connect to the divine. Choose love.

Quote #4:

“You’re allowed to scream, you’re allowed to cry, but do not give up.” ~Unknown

When I was diagnosed with cancer all four times, my initial reaction was, “What the F*ck?” “Seriously?” and a few other expletives. I allowed myself time to scream, cry, feel bad and be sad and upset. Then, after a few days, I reframed everything and was able to focus on the task at hand: LIVING.

Quote #5:

“You have been assigned this mountain to show others it can be moved.” ~ Anonymous

Sometimes, we don’t know why something happens to us or loved ones. It can be difficult to understand or get stuck in wanting to know the ‘why’. Know that the mountains we get to climb strengthen us and can sometimes create more meaning in life when we are on the other side of the mountain.

Quote #6

“Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher.” ~ Oprah Winfrey

Life is way to short to spend time with people who are negative or bring you down. You are the sum of the five people you hang out with most. Be careful to only bring people into your energy field that will help lift you higher!

Quote #7

“Never be ashamed of a scar. It simply means you were stronger than whatever tried to hurt you.” ~ Unknown

I used to think scars were a bad thing and that they would be constant reminders of the tough times. Now, I look at my scars and give thanks that I am thriving and stronger than ever.

Quote #8

“Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.”  ~Charles Swindoll

Indeed, this is a powerful quote. I believe we have the power within to be, do and have anything. I helped heal myself from cancer, hernias and more. It’s about how we act and react to external circumstances that determine our end result.

Quote #9

“Every man dies. Not every man really lives.”  ~William Wallace

THIS quote reminds me that I am here to LIVE my best life NOW with passion and purpose. I am here in this world at this time to make a difference. I don’t want to get to the end of my life and wonder what if… or have regrets about the things I didn’t do. This is the #1 regret people have at the end of life. No matter what you are going through, take time to live each and every day with intention, alignment and joy.

“Love and laughter are two of the most important universal cancer treatments on the planet. Overdose on them.”  ~Tanya Masse

Humor heals. Humor really lifts our spirits. When going through difficult times in life, I chose to watch funny shows and movies and listen to inspiring music. You can’t overdose on Love and Laughter. Make it a priority to infuse fun and humor in your every day life.

Quote #11:

“The potential within you is greater than the obstacles around you.” ~Matshona Dhliwayo

This quote really resonates with me because I believe everything is happening FOR us not to us. Our obstacles, challenges, problems, etc. all serve to help us grow. Remember that YOU are a powerful being. Believe that you will get through anything. Trust that Spirit has your back.

Quote #12:

“Cancer is a word, not a sentence.”  ~John Diamond

When you hear the words, “you have cancer”, everything that follows is a blur. Your mind may automatically take you to thoughts of death and despair. Remember, many people have healed cancer. It doesn’t have to mean a ‘death sentence’, per se. Once you get through the initial shock of a cancer diagnosis, remember that cancer is just a word.

Quote #13:

“The human spirit is stronger than anything that can happen to it.” ~ C.C. Scott

I think we seriously underestimate the power we have within to be, do and have (and HEAL) anything.

“It’s about focusing on the fight and not the fright.” ~Robin Roberts

This quote reminds me that fighting cancer is about choosing LIFE. The more you focus on LIFE affirming things the less you are in a state of worry and fear.

Quote #15:

“When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.” ~Franklin D. Roosevelt

There are days when you just want to give up. There are also days when the pain is so unbearable that you feel like dying. On these days and during these times, tie a knot and hang on for dear life. Remember that the Universe always supports you.

Gratitude is a huge foundation for me in my life. As I share this final quote with you, may it help inspire and motivate you to always be grateful.

“Gratitude is the foundation for developing our greatness and is key to living a life filled with passion, peace and joy. It opens the door to endless abundance in all areas of our life; attracting only that which serves our highest good.” ~ Tandy Elisala

Tandy, I really appreciate this post. I survived cancer with my husband. It’s been 10 years now since he had it. Another family member found out he has it. I hate it all over again. Thanks for these, do you mind if I post them on my fanpage for a couple weeks?

Tandy, I loved EACH one of your quotes. At first, I thought my favorite was #1, and then I read #3 and I thought that was my favorite. In fact, as I went down the list, I was loving each and every one of your quotes.
The one the stays the most with me is ” Cancer is word, not a sentence.”
When my husband had his base of tongue cancer, first came shock, then uncertainty, sadness, anger and finally determination.
We refused to see cancer as a death sentence, but rather as an opportunity to walk our talk. It’s been eleven years in August and he’s doing great. We live our lives with purpose and fun. We travel as much as we can. We enjoy each day we are together.
These quotes are great reminders for anyone dealing with all types of struggles and challenges.
Thank you for sharing your journey.

This quote means a lot for me too, Claudette, because it reminds me that my LEGACY is much bigger than cancer. I’m SO glad your husband is 11 years healthy from cancer! I love that you live each day with passion and purpose and FUN. Traveling is a great way to experience greater things in life and create memories with each other.

I have to say that the best one came from you, Tandy: “Hope and Love are the only things stronger than fear.” You have come through so much and are so beautifully sharing the lessons you learned along the way. May you keep going strong and keep shining your beautiful light in the world. And may your words help many who are in need.
