Why work with me?

Let’s face it. Everyone is different and ‘fit’ is important when deciding who to work with, invest with and rely on to get the results you need. Establishing trust is so wildly important and is the foundation for our work together. If you are reading this you likely are wanting to learn more about how my experience and results can help you. You are probably also determining my credibility, integrity, qualifications, experience and potential fit with your needs. Smart!

Towards that end, I’ve organized the information below by type of work. I’m starting with a general “top 10” list to help you learn who I am as a person:

#1.  I am a spirit driven, heart based person and everything I do comes from a space of love, gratitude, respect and integrity.

#2.  I take a personalized holistic approach to everything I do. This means  I look at all aspects of a situation, options, and resources, and work with you towards permanent results. I pull out all the stops.

#3.   I have invested over $150K on my personal and professional education outside of formal higher education. I continually learn myself to ensure I deliver top results for you. I earned an MA in Organizational Management and an BA in Management with an emphasis in Human Resource Management. Although I earned a Doctorate in alternative health, the school was sold to a company in Germany and is unaccredited. As such, I removed it from my promotional materials, and all other aspects of my website because I choose to be associated with credible organizations and universities.

#4.  I spent over 25 years’ in the corporate world (or what I call where corporate and academia meet) and last served 6 years as a Vice President for University Services and Campus Services for the respective universities; University of Phoenix and Education Management Corporation (Argosy University, South University, Art Institutes). I understand the demands of balancing life, leadership, success in business, delivering world-class service, engaging and retaining top talent and….results.

#5.  I served as an adjunct (part-time) faculty member at the University of Phoenix for almost 10 years and also served as a mentor for almost half that time.

#6.   I was a Certified Franklin Covey Facilitator in 6 content areas; driving culture change across departments with a facilitator Net Promoter Score (NPS) in the 90’s and a department NPS in the 40’s.  World class organizations NPS scores range between 42 and 100.

#7.   I am  a single mom who raised three amazing kids; mostly on my own for the last 14 years. They are now 27, 23 and 20. I could go on about them for days. They are my pride and joy and I am honored to be their mother on their life journey. I also love my pets. We have a beautiful dog and two cats.

#8.  I am author of  “Healing Through the Chaos: Practical Care Giving” and a #1 International bestselling author of four other books.

#9.  I kicked cancer’s ass four times. I am strong, fierce and believe in the power of the mind.

#10. As important as my career was to me (and my livelihood), my kids and I decided leaving my career to care for my parents simultaneously full-time was the right thing to do for our family.

As a success coach and consultant, here is what makes me unique:

1.  I am a Certified Professional Success Coach and certified in level one Sedona Method Coaching. I’ve owned my business, Center for Inspiring Greatness! since 2003 and originally offered success and life coaching, Hypnotheraphy, Reiki and Thought Field Therapy (you can find more information in the FAQ section of the site). I operated my business part-time while working and teaching. Incorporating coaching strategies with alternative healing modalities is something few people offer.

2. I am a certified Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapist (ACH) and a Clinical Hypnotist (CHt), and Thought Field Therapy (TFT) practitioner.

3. I am a member of the National Speakers Association (NSA) and The Conscious Community (TCC).

4. I have had the honor of speaking for audiences of 10 – 3,000 on a wide range of personal and professional development topics as well as higher education related topics. I am well versed and comfortable on stage.

As a family caregiver coach, here is what makes me unique:

1. I’ve been a caregiver most of my life. My mother was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia when I was 13 years old. My dad was in the USAF and worked nights. This left me to care for her and my infant sister.

2.  In addition to mental illness, I have extensive experience with neurological injury (Traumatic Brain Injury) and physical injuries and associated care. This is due to my father’s serious car accident in 2009 when he was involved in a massive 21+ car pileup and spent the next 2 1/2 years with brain surgeries, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, various surgeries for physical injuries, declining baselines, more surgeries; all needing full-time care. Weeks prior to his accident, my already disabled mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. I saw her through this and assumed full-time caregiving responsibility for both parents simultaneously for their respective illnesses and disabilities.

3.  Due to my extensive corporate and teaching background, I utilized all my operations, process, information technology, academic and business experience to get through my caregiving journey and create tools, processes, and resources for you to effectively work with the medical community, your family, your loved one, and how to take care of yourself!

4.  I created an easy-to-follow 5 step family caregiver P.E.A.C.E. System what walks you through each stage of giving care. It’s the only system of its kind. P.E.A.C.E. stands for:

 P= Personal preparation and blueprint- key things everyone must have now and how to organize  E= Evaluating care needs and options – what do they need, decision points and how to keep them safe
A = Advocacy – where is the advocacy manual when you become a caregiver anyway!?!
C=  Care tips for the caregiver – self care is wildly important
E= Evoke family legacy – creating a legacy that honors your loved ones and preserves for generations

5.  I’ve been a caregiver and a care receiver. I get it.

6. I have felt the overwhelm, exhaustion, fears, sadness, anger, frustration, (did I mention overwhelm?) and feeling alone. I’ve been there.

7.  As a grief coach, I recognize grief and healing comes in many forms and everyone is unique. I honor this space and utilize my experience and skills and help you through this difficult time. Grief isn’t always about death. You can grieve loss of the person someone was before aging, illness or disability, loss of health, loss of financial stability, loss of pets, loss of jobs… the list is endless. I know you don’t get over anything. You get through it.

8. I get results. My clients tell me how much I have helped them through very difficult times. This gives me strength to know I am doing the right thing in being of service in this way.
