As a four-time cancer survivor, I’ve integrated a lot of healing strategies into my life. Without question, my #1 go-to practice is gratitude. From personal experience, I’ve learned that gratitude is key to living your life with passion, peace, and joy. It is the foundation for developing your greatness. It is also a profound way to connect with your soul.

When things aren’t going right in life, it’s easy to complain or focus on what we don’t have. But when we give thanks for all the blessings we do have, we allow even more to be grateful for into our lives.

There are a number of great ways to integrate gratitude into your daily life. One way is to start every morning – before you even get out of bed – by affirming (silently or aloud) three things you are grateful for. This can be as simple as saying: “I am grateful for each breath that I take. I am thankful for my health, my eyes to see, my ears to hear, my family…” or anything else you appreciate. This really sets a positive tone for your day, which can lead to even more to be grateful for!

Another great way to integrate gratitude into your daily life is to start a success jar. Every night, I take a few minutes and write down one thing that went well that day. It can be something you are thankful for or something new you learned. At the end of the month, you can have a gratitude fest and read them. Even better, involve your family with this practice and have everyone participate. It’s a great way to focus on the positive and connect with your family in a meaningful way.

The key ingredients to miracles and connecting with your soul are: courage, love, the knowing that we are all connected, and gratitude. When your heart is open and full of gratitude for all that is good, you can change the world…starting with yourself!
